Maximise comfort and safety by adding Woods Air Movement valves, diffusers and dampers to your HVAC system. Stocked in a range of types and sizes, they can improve the efficacy and efficiency of the ventilation of your building.

What does a Damper do?

A damper is component found in a ducted ventilation system, that controls how much air (cold or hot) goes into each space via ducts.

The damper works by opening or closing to varying degrees in order to control the flow of air through different rooms or zones within a structure. This helps to maintain comfortable temperatures throughout the space and conserve energy at the same time. Dampers can be controlled automatically or manually. Levers located outside of air vents and ducts control damper plates or valves in a manual system. The automatic ones work mechanically and can be managed remotely.

Fire dampers are used where ducting breaches the fire barriers with a building's structure. When a fire or smoke is detected they snap shut maintaining the integrity of the fire barrier and preventing the spread of smoke or fire through the ducting.

What do Valves & Diffusers do?

Woods offers a range of mechanical (manual) valves and diffusers designed to allow people within a ventilated space to control the speed and direction of air being supplied by an HVAC unit. Correctly situated, they prevent hot or cold spots within a room by ensuring air is circulated evenly.
