Underground Light Rail Extension, Minnesota. The tunnel allows the light rail to pass under a local Lake Parkway and other areas.
Jet Fan system design to provide longitudinal ventilation through the tunnel. High temperature rated fans for smoke extraction for emergency situations.
The extension project of 14.5 mile (23.3 KM) was added to the existing underground light rail line to add accessiblility to another four areas. The JMTS Jet Fans we supplied were fitted with advanced components and engineering to ensure we met the needs of the tunnel project. The multiple JMTS Jet Fans will direct fumes or smoke to the nearest extraction point giving it the perfect life safety tunnel ventilation solution for our customer.
In this project, the customer needed to ensure that the tunnel had emergency ventilation, as required, based on the latest NFPA codes. The second important aspect of the NFPA codes is that the products require certain sound specifications to be met. We specifically designed a integral guard design to help reduce noise levels.
Inclusive of this project was a complete AMCA 250 factory test coupled with a required high temperature operational test at 250°C (482°F) for 2 hours.
